The summer fun is over and it’s time for your teen to hit the books! Teach your teen a couple of "Back to School Basics" that will help promote clear skin during these pressured times.
Did you know that acne is the most common skin disease in the United States? Acne is caused by an excess production of oil in the sebaceous glands. Horomones, stress and an unhealthy diet are some of the causes of acne in teens. Teaching your teen the following basics will help your teen have clear and healthy skin.

1. Cleanse- Use a mild cleanser twice a day (morning and evening). Cleaning your skin removes the dirt and debris that builds up throughout the day and enables your pores to breathe.
2. Exfoliate- Exfoliating is an absolute must. Our skin produces 5 million cells each day that build up and don’t all slough off. Exfoliate your skin once a week to keep it flawless.
3. Moisturize- Moisturizing is a key to preventing acne. Without moisture, the skin will create its own - which is "oil". Use a light moisturizer with SPF 15.
4. Hydrate- Drink lots of water!! Hydration helps to flush out those nasty toxins that prevent you from having amazing portrait-ready skin.
