Miramonte Resort's Highly Anticipated Spa, THE WELL, Breaks Ground For A Spring 2004 Opening

(Indian Wells, CA) Miramonte Resort and Spa, 45-000 Indian Wells Lane, a Preferred Hotel & Resort has officially broken ground in preparation for their new Tuscan-inspired destination spa, THE WELL, set to debut in Spring 2004. The 12,000-square-foot spa, which will become the "centerpiece of the resort," will offer 10 outdoor and 9 indoor relaxation suites, four mud bars, two signature river benches and a Watsu pool.

The discerning guest will encounter an experience unlike any other when visiting THE WELL at Miramonte. Unique among Southern California spas in its intimacy and attention to detail, The WELL will be a sanctuary from 21st century living, with classic old-world style. THE WELL will feature a full range of health, wellness, and beauty facilities as well as regional treatments that will be distinctive and unique. Their services will incorporate techniques inspired by Tuscan living including therapeutic muds, wine extracts, oils, and refreshing waters. The spa program will be designed to accomplish one important goal, to enliven one's senses and bring a sense of relaxation and rejuvenation to the body and spirit.

Individuals and couples alike will find THE WELL a tranquil haven of charm, sophistication and romance. One of the signature services, the Pittura Festa (Painting Party), encourages guests to find their artistic side - not to mention their inner child - using brushes to paint colorful muds and clays on themselves or a partner's body, face and hair. Post-painting artists can then bask in the warm desert sun in their private cabana, letting the nourishing muds detoxify the body and help sooth the muscles and joints. A therapist will perform scalp massages and personalized pressure-points facials while the mud dries.

Other distinctive features and services include Watsu, bagno vino (Italian for wine bath) and Vichy showers with tables built from 100-year-old Acacia cedar, carved in the shape of mangrove leaves. In addition, two river benches allow couples to lie upon sculpted stone chaise lounges immersed in a shallow stream of water much like lounging in a natural riverbed. A beverage bar offers spa guests light and healthful refreshments such as Miramonte's lemonade. Guests are welcome to dine on the patio at Brissago, just a short stroll from The WELL, where they will find a selection of spa specialties on the menu.

Overseeing THE WELL is Spa Director Jennifer Di Francesco. As a seasoned spa veteran, DiFrancesco knows that this is one of the most unique spas to ever open in the California desert. "I look forward to providing a one-of-a-kind, fun and rejuvenating spa experience guests will remember," says DiFrancesco. "With its Tuscan oasis feel, we see THE WELL as a place people will return to again and again."

THE WELL will also offer a complete selection of fitness classes and outdoor activities including yoga, pilates, tai chi, meditation and more. The spa will feature Comfort Zone products, a leading Italian-based company that specializes in the development and production of skin and hair care products.

The combination of beautiful landscaping, soothing treatments, and spectacular views of the Santa Rosa Mountains will create a Tuscan-style environment that is natural and distinctive.
